Project Peace
Siddih is proud to sponsor Project Peace, an innovative and dynamic approach combining communication and fashion to create a dialogue aimed at helping people everywhere gain insights to real peace at an individual, family, community, national and world wide level.
Project Peace is about having conversations with others that begins with a simple, but profound question: "What does peace mean to you?" Their answers (and the answers of dozens, hundreds, even thousands of others), provides a unique opportunity and learning experience for young people to gain valuable insights about peace, breakdown cultural, ethnic, political, religious and other barriers that impede genuine dialogue, and build bridges of understanding and cooperation.
Project Peace provides an interactive, invigorating learning opportunity for schools and students to spread the message of peace by interviewing people of all ages and backgrounds in their local communities asking the question "What does peace mean to you." Interviewees who provide a definition and purchase one of Siddih's Peace collection attire will also receive one of our message cards that allows them to learn more about Project Peace through our website and the results of the project they were a part of.
Project Peace is about educational exchanges. Under the guidance of their teachers, students will gather and summarize the many definitions of peace (they collected from their interviews), provide their own definitions and insights and with the assistance of our project partner - Help the Afghan Children: www.htac.org - exchange their project with an Afghan 'sister' school that is engaged in peace education studies. 10% of all Project Peace profits (from the sales of our peace collection attire) will be donated to support the work of Help the Afghan Children where education is the key to building a civil society.
